BIOGRAPHY

Soprano Caroline Nardino is a Doctor in Vocal Performance and Opera Directing. Her academic journey has been marked by valuable contributions as a voice studio instructor and assistant director for opera productions. Caroline's dedication extends to the promotion of Brazilian art song, where she equips performers with tools to master Brazilian-Portuguese diction, performance practices, and the pedagogical nuances inherent in this repertoire.

Originally hailing from Curitiba, Brazil, Caroline completed her undergraduate studies at Universidade Estadual do Paraná. She furthered her specialization in Voice Performance and Pedagogy at the same institution. Since 2012, she has been imparting knowledge through individual voice lessons and showcasing her talent in solo recitals, chamber music ensembles, and operas. Noteworthy performances include her roles as Giacinta in Mozart's La finta semplice (2013) and Fiordiligi in Mozart's Così fan tutte (2014). In 2015, she was a soloist at the Santa Catarina Music Festival under the baton of Catherine Larsen-Maguire, benefiting from coaching and masterclasses with Gino Quilico.

Caroline's dedication and talent earned her a scholarship to study at the University of Georgia for two months through the Santa Maria Festival's competition in the same year. In 2018, she commenced her Master's program at the University of Wyoming under the guidance of Dr. Katrina Zook, where she stood out as a soloist in Mendelssohn's Midsummer Night's Dream.

Before embarking on her doctoral program, Caroline was admitted to the Artist Diploma program at Sam Houston State University, studying under Dr. Tony Boutté. During this time, she participated in a Beethoven anniversary concert, collaborating with faculty members and performed Villa-Lobos Bachiana's Brasileiras no. 5 alongside a cello ensemble.

At Ball State University under the mentorship of Dr. Kevin Gwinn, Caroline showcased her talent in various productions, including Menotti's Amahl and the Night Visitors (Mother), Barber's Knoxville, Crumb's Night Music I, Poulenc's La voix humaine (both as a soprano and director), Puccini's Suor Angelica (Angelica), and at the 2024 Pellegrini Festival of New Music.
